"I don't want to have this argument again," she said, turning her back on Keegan.

"You'd rather just walk out?"

"You're the one walking out," she said, shaking her head.

"I'm not goin' anywhere, Bailey! I'm still here!"

"For how long?!" She spun to face him.

"I-..." he fell silent, rubbing his lips.

"Exactly." She picked up her purse and started for the door. "You know where to find me if you need me."

He caught her arm before she could leave the apartment they shared. "I want to make this work."

She pulled her arm from his grasp. "I don't." Then she turned and left, heading over to Akelah's apartment.

Bailey wandered through the store in her black slacks and white top. Her black jacket had been abandoned in her car. It was lunchtime and she was meeting Keegan to find his mother a birthday present. The large SALE sign caught her eye as it always did and she went over with a smile. Her eyes lit up at the selections of shoes on sale. She could have used some new shoes, no doubt. Her finger lightly trailed the table top where the shoes sat as she walked around it. She stopped at the sight of beautiful red heels. She did love red.

A hand slid to her back. "Honey.." Keegan's voice came beside her, amused.

"But...they're pretty," she gasped.

"You've got shoes."

"Not these shoes."

"You've got red heels," he argued, still smirking.

"Not these red heels."

He sighed and shook his head. He picked up one of the shoes and turned it around slowly in his hand. "What's more important? Another pair of shoes or...a dish drain for a home one day?"

She looked at him and pouted her best pout. "They're on sale, Kee. And..I bet cheaper than any dish drain would be." He glanced at her and watched her pout. He wasn't very good at saying no to it, and they both knew that.

"Okay, okay," he nodded and picked up the other shoe. "But there is a catch."

"What's that?" She began walking again and looking for something Laura would like as a present. Keegan walked at her side with his hand to her back and leaned into her ear.

"You're wearing these tonight. Only these."

She grinned and laughed. "I can live with that."
